In june I have been to Bretagne, France, and I have photographed many tide pool organisms. Some I photographed in the wild and some in a little tank.
This is a mollusc with cute little eyes! Haliotis tuberculata I think. The english name is Abalone or sea ear. It has holes on the top of the shell and small tentacles emerge.
I photographed this in a normal aquarium. I also have a smaller tank (but too small for this subject) with better glass. If you would zoom in on the details fo this image you would see a slight color shift. But perhaps that is when you look at it at 100%. Probably not visible in a normal print.

A very beautiful and interesting photograph Wim. Some folks say that Abalone are some pretty good table fare. Never have eaten one as I know of, not much on shell sea food but I do like clams, crab, lobster, and shrimp.
