Not a Springtail

Not a Springtail

Don't know what this is. I found it on a very small (3-4") flowering weed. Its not a springtail, just another one of the tiny insects that I find, that I cannot find a reference to. :-k

You do manage to find little buggers :!: :D This is a thrip in the order Thysanoptera. Cool :!: :D

You mean when Ms. Trunchable in the movie 'Matilda' calls her students little 'thrips', this is what she meant? Bugger! :wink:

Why is it that I search and search and never can find these things out for myself.
Don't worry about it, Ken. I have an advantage in that I took an entomology class in college. That and we have a ton of citrus trees around our place that have massive invasions of thrips when the trees bloom. :D
