Spent a couple days over in Olympic Nat'l Park. Spring is just getting a start along the Quinault River.
I came across quite a few nice stoneflies that had just emerged. (Ken's probably trying to figure how to get a fishhook attached to one of these... the steelhead love 'em).
The salmonberry (Rubus spectabilis) were just beginning to bloom. Very delicate, short lived blossoms.
The third shot is of a plant that I don't know, but I found the colors of the small buds very attractive.
Nikon D200. 70-180 Nikon macro (top 2), 200mm nikon macro (lower).

I have seen the work of some tyer's who can make or tye these things so exact, that they look as though they would crawl right out of your flybox. Great photograph(s) Charlie(Ken's probably trying to figure how to get a fishhook attached to one of these... the steelhead love 'em).

Very artistic shots Charles. Your Macro & Micro shots should be in one of those large format books that people put on their coffee tables, they certainly show the beauty of nature all around us. That is the most colorful stonefly I have ever seen. Seems like all the ones in New Hampshire are gray in color. No Wonder the fish like that one

Hello Charles.
Lovely shots. Excellent exposure with beautiful color and wonderful texture in all of them. The compositions are good as well.
