Raft spider

Post by Wim van Egmond »

I have been doing some macro images when I visited a friend on the other side of the country. (2 hours from my place, yes, it is a small country:-) the results where pretty o.k. but in some cases it was too much flash. I am not trying to make a reflection screen on my macro lens.

But this is something I had not seen before. A Raft spider. Dolomedes fimbriatus. I think it is the biggest spider in my country.

Geez Wim 8-[ A puppy would have been nice. Nice shot of the crawler though, even if it does give me the creeps. :D
