No. More blades makes the aperture closer to round. This is one of several factors affecting the appearance of out-of-focus regions. The general term is "bokeh" or "boke" (alternate spellings). Thanks Su, I took a look... yes, the Canon 100mm 2.8 macro looks very nice...8) nice price too , around £450 :shock: although I see the Canon 60mm is only £300....

Btw Sue, did you take the picture of the Fly Face on your web site using the 20D and the 100mm? He's a really ferocious looking beastie!
