Is there any site on the internet where one can submit an image of a protozoa in order to gain an ID?

The only place I know of is here. I looked at the one you submitted and tried to ID it , but well, I am not very good at that right now.

Hi ya' Ken :D

I don't know of any place that you can submit a photo for ID. You might check some of the members on the Yahoo! Microscope Group. There is a gallery in which you can post small images, about 320 x 240 pixels. Someone on that group may be able to ID your beastie. Just do a "Google" search on "Yahoo Microscope Group".

Best regards, my friend :D

Ken,
I've the same Protozoa ID needs so maybe we can be of mutual help. I may be missing something because I'm a newbie, but I don't see the link to your photo.

Hi Garry. Well I posted the image on our forum and it was agreed that it was probably a very small Colpoda.
If you have a problem with ID's maybe you should purchase a couple of books. Two good ones that I could mention are -
How to know the Protozoa by Theodore Jahn. and
Free-Living Freshwater Protozoa by D J Patterson.
I have both these and find that they overlap very well.
