Zeiss Microscope - Standard 18/19
Dear Charles and Ken, Thank you for the manual but that isn't my scope. I had sent a bunch of photo's earlier to Ken and he directly me to Jim at that time. Now, Jim really is a good guy and I have been following his advice, but he is the peerson telling me about the grease Zeiss used drying out and...

Zeiss
Well, I am pretty frustrated and I'm whining. I don't have a phase telescope for the microscope and the only one I could find/buy flat out doesn't work. The substage that holds the phase rings keeps getting stuck, is *very* hard to turn (I'm told it's old grease and it needs to be compleelyt cleaned...

Where to post Microscopes and other equipment for buy/sell?
I have a pretty elaborate microscope and want to "sell" it...well, actually trade or sell it so I can something a lot simplier. My problem is, the only four times I have had any dealings on eBay I was burned and burned badly or "badder each time" and avoid them like the plague. Now, I don't see any ...

Water Glass = Glycerine Jelly
I always thought that water glass was just glycerine and jelatin. The old fomula is to mix a packet ( 7 grams) of store bought jelatin with just enough tap water to dissolve it - 25 ml or so. Heat over an alcohol lmapo until dissolved. Then, add this to 75 ml of 180 to 200 degree C glycerine. Mix we...

Lumic Digital Camera Mount
Rik, Almost anything I can say about this camera would be an understatement. I have had two Canon's, a G4 and one-of-those-fancy-ones-that-take-lenses-like-an-SLR I bought at Costco, and a Nikon CoolPix The Lumix is by far the best digital camera I have ever used. I shoot closeup's of rod finishing ...

Camera Adaptor
I have a Panasonic LUMIX FX9 digital camera that has a leica lens and takes just wonderful photographs. I also have a newly "discovered" Zeiss Standard 19 microscope with all of the phase objectives, the phase condensor, all of the "do-hickies for phase condensor" but #3 for the 100X oil (I believe ...

Zeiss
Ken, please excuse the extreme ignorance, but I am thinking of taking your advice and getting the Zeiss microscope. Perhaps a bit of history. I am a 58 year old engineer who also builds old fashioned bamboo fly rods (from scratch...I used to work for the H.L. Leonard Rod Company in my youth). In any...
