of course it is not simple as it was on the front view but.... you can read on the side that there is no central area so surely no raphe... it can easely be classed in fragillariale or diatomale... my first think goes to a diatoma mesodon, but not sure

Very good image indeed when you know how difficult it is to resolve this frustule diatom.... this forum prefer alive materials, but we like sometime some beautifull dead diatoms and you know that I love them :lol:

always for information, for Actinoptychus slpendens the small holes inside the bigs are about 0,25µm !!! sharp objective you used here....

Hello everybody, Ken told me that he prefer alive diatoms.... I don't whant him to think that I am a serial diatom killer :lol: .... of course, I am obliged to kill some of them to read the frustules, but I like also to see them alive... remember my pseudo is "Gyrosigma"... so to illustrate this... ...
