Nice going Nikola. Beautiful colors in this shot...I love that rich yellow and the dark green background and the butterfly stands out very nicely

Nikola

Nice picture!

Do you know what species it is? It looks very like one of the "blues" we get here in the UK.

I'm not sure, it could be Lysandra bellargus ("Adonis blue"). Upper side of the wing is blue-purple (male) or gray-brown-orange (female) but I have no luck to capture it (male upper wing side color).
I think this one is female of the same kind. :

These are some great butterfly photos, wish I had a few around my place to photograph. Don't know a whole lot about them, except that they are pretty. :D

The reverse of the wing certainly looks right. Here's a picture of the male:-

Can't locate such a good picture of the female, the "blues" seem a bit difficult to tell apart.

I thought it looked like a butterfly we also get in the UK.

Ken

Don't know what you are moaning about, you have far more butterflies than we have. You have all these to photograph:-

Not counting dragonflies and damselflies!

Think it's Groundsel (Senecio vulgaris). See:-

What a gorgeous image, Nikola! Bright yellow, and dark background flattering your subject to the fullest. Beauty.

As for the yellow flowers, I think this is Common Tansy (tanacetum vulgare).

Nikola

Think Paul is correct for the plant your Adonis Blue is on:-

However I think the plant the Holly Blue is on in your Flickr link is probably Common Ragwort.
