some time ago, we saw some great photos of Amphipleura pellucida shells
by Jean Marc and others. Here are two pictures of a living one.
First without polarized light:
(Zeiss Standard, Planapo 40/0.95; S-Kpl 16x/12.5;
asymmetric Col with blue backround, slide film)
And using polarized light with my best resolving objective:
Stripes can be seen clearly, if you want to see them, even some dots appear ,
in fact that might be some film grain.
(Zeiss Standard, Planapo 63/1.40; S-Kpl 16x/12.5;
oblique lighting, crossed polarizers; slide film, two images)
