Brachionus - Dark Field Illumination

Post by Mike »

Hello all,

Here's a shot of a Brachionus from my critter farm - the dark field illumination clearly demonstrates the movement of the cilia around the corona, although I was not able to get a good exposure with flash so I could not 'stop' the movement.

Image

All the best,

Mike

I agree, a splended shot. :D You may not have stopped the cilia but the image has excellent color and details. Good work! :D

I have to agree Mike, a really splendid shot. I think in this case it is better that the cilia not be stopped, as the slight bluring effect is very telling. That critter farm is turning out some great critters :D

Hello Tom,

Good to hear from you and I do hope things are improving for you and yours.

I am very pleased to have this photo selected and thank you and the rest for providing this forum - as far as I'm concerned, this is where the best photography, micro & macro, is being done.

All the best,

Mike
